HIH Crown Prince Jonathan (formerly known as HM King Jonathan I and as Pope Alexander II in Moylurg and Wilcsland respectively) is the Founder, Prime Minister, current Second Consul, and Heir to the Throne of Austenasia,[2][3] the Viceroy (and a Cardinal) of Orly, Chairperson of the Grand Unified Micronational, and the former joint King of Moylurg with his former consort King Declan I. He was also Second Midget Master from 2004 - 2006, leader of the Merger Club, and Lord Regent of the Grove for a short period in late 2010.

The Crown Prince founded Austenasia in September 2008, after being inspired both by Molossia and by his former involvement in the Midget Empire. As well as being Prime Minister, the Crown Prince is currently Chief Inspector of Police, and Dux Britanniarum in the Austenasian Army.

Biography Edit

Early lifeEdit

Crown Prince Jonathan was born on 13 October 1994 at St. Helier Hospital in Carshalton[4] to the future Austenasian Emperor Terry and Empress Margaret. He was baptised at Raynes Park Methodist Church on 26 February 1995.

The Crown Prince attended Rushy Meadow Primary School, where it was found that at the age of 9 he had the problem-solving level of an 18 year old. In September 2005 he founded the Merger Club, a group of children which raised over £600 for charity and ran it until it was dissolved in 2009. He left Rushy Meadow with maximum marks and went on to Stanley Park High School in 2006.

Midget EmpireEdit

Jonathan was a founding member of both the Midget Empire and Midget Army, both established in early September 2002 and practically synonymous early on. A high-ranking officer, he served under Midget Master Daniel (I) in the Midget Civil War and Invader Attacks, and notably led the Midget Army to victory in the Battle of the Push Bench Gang and the First Boys vs Girls War. In September 2004, Daniel abdicated and named Jonathan the new Midget Master.[5]

Midget Master Jonathan started a large campaign of expansion, but ruled in a different way from Daniel, allowing senior commanders to be involved in decision making. Although under his reign the Midget Empire expanded enormously, some commanders became disgruntled with his style of ruling, prefering the militaristic rule of Midget Master Daniel to the comparatively democratic and therefore slightly more beurocratic rule of Midget Master Jonathan. This came to a head in late June 2005, when Thomas, the charismatic and militarily successful commander of the Patioed Pathway, began a rebellion. The former Midget Master Daniel helped Midget Master Jonathan and Commander Thomas to come to a peaceful compromise, thus averting a repeat of the Midget Civil War, and from then on Jonathan and Thomas shared equal power, although only Jonathan had the title of Midget Master and the right to choose a successor.[6]

In September 2005, another coup was attempted - this ended in another power-sharing compromise, whereby Jonathan and Thomas ruled the Midget Empire as a triumverate with Commander Gregory (a high-ranking founding officer of the Midget Army), although as before, Jonathan remained the only one with the title of Midget Master and the right to choose a successor.[7] Jonathan abdicated this title when he left the school in July 2006, leaving it to his sister Caroline.[8]

Reign of Emperor Terry IEdit

Crown Prince Jonathan founded Austenasia on 20 September 2008 after being inspired by the Republic of Molossia.[9] After the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were unanimously agreed upon by the residents of Austenasia, he sent them to the local Member of Parliament, the British Prime Minister, and the UK Home Office.[10]

By the terms of the Declaration of Independence, Jonathan was appointed Prime Minister until 1 January 2009, and his father Terry was declared Emperor of the new country. Crown Prince Jonathan also assumed the office of Representative of Wrythe after an informal election was taken on the same day that Austenasia declared independence.

On 1 January 2009, Crown Prince Jonathan was democratically elected to the offices of both Prime Minister and Representative of Wrythe.[11] Although he had no competition for either vote, there was the option in both elections for the voters to choose to return to the United Kingdom - an option that was not chosen by anyone.

On 21 February 2009, the Crown Prince presented a square foot of land that he owned in Scotland to the Austenasian Government to be annexed as the town of Glencrannog.[12] On 22 March he signed the Treaty of Annexation of South Kilttown along with Sir William, and on 28 August personally led the Austenasian Army force that conquered Commius Flats.[13] On 1 January 2010, the Crown Prince was re-elected as Representative of Wrythe.[14]

Sole reign of Emperor Esmond IIIEdit

On 15 February 2010, Emperor Terry I announced that he would be abdicating. As Heir to the Throne, Crown Prince Jonathan was first in line to the choice of accepting the Throne and becoming Monarch. However, under the 2008 Constitution the Prime Minister cannot also be Monarch. He chose to decline the opportunity, preferring to be Head of Government rather than Head of State. The Throne thus passed to the Crown Prince's friend and Supreme Companion: Dark Lord Esmond, 2nd Duke of Highland, SCH (the title "Dark Lord" rather than "Lord" had been given upon bestowment of the office of Duke of Highland to "make it sound better"). At roughly 14:40 on 16 February 2010, mere minutes after being informed of the abdication, Emperor Esmond III accepted the Throne. In order to keep the Monarchy as stable as possible, it was decided that the Line of Succession would remain the same. Therefore, Crown Prince Jonathan remained Heir to the Throne, as the former Emperor's son.[15]

On 7 March 2010, Crown Prince Jonathan attended the Vestry Conference, a meeting held to try and arrange a compromise for the claim to the Throne held by Princess Caroline. The talks broke down, and the Crown Prince revealed that he had recorded Lord General William stating that he did not think Esmond III should be Emperor.[16]

The Lord General attempted to seize the tape from the Crown Prince and dispose of the evidence. Crown Prince Jonathan refused to give it to him on the basis that he was Chief Inspector, instead removing that office from him. The Crown Prince realised that Lord General William may have been secretly working with Princess Caroline to try and remove Esmond from the Throne, so he asked the Princess if, now that the talks had failed, she would not only uphold her claim, but try to remove Esmond III from the Throne. The Princess said that she would, and so Crown Prince Jonathan arrested her for high treason.[17]

Lord General William warned that a civil war may erupt if he did not get back his office of Chief Inspector. The Crown Prince asked if that was a threat, and the Princess used the stand-off as a chance to escape his custody. The Crown Prince and Lord General ran after the escaped Princess. Crown Prince Jonathan re-captured Princess Caroline, after which Lord General William announced that he was declaring a state of civil war in Austenasia, and would attempt to overthrow Esmond III to put himself and Caroline in power. Crown Prince Jonathan announced that the Lord General was committing high treason and rebellion, automatically removing him from the post of Representative of South Kilttown.[18]

Crown Prince Jonathan was appointed the new Minister of Defence by HIM Emperor Esmond III with the passing of Act 116.[19] The Crown Prince, as Minister of Defence and Field Marshal, was thus in charge of the entire Austenasian Armed Forces and the Esmondian war effort. General Sir Joseph Goldie, KCP, was appointed Head General and Strategic Advisor, the Crown Prince's deputy.

The Crown Prince led the recruitment drive for the Austenasian Army, massively increasing its size. He also participated in GUM-mediated peace talks between the Emperor and Princess on 10 March, and arranged two temporary ceasefires, the first lasting 10th-15th and the second 24th-29th March.[20]

On 18 April 2010, the Battle of Carshalton Park took place. The Crown Prince led a very small government force, consisting of only himself and Gen. Sir Ryan Dickinson, KCP, against rebel commander William. The Crown Prince's force won, retrieving a stolen bag of equipment and then escorting William out of the park to get treatment after he sustained a nosebleed.[21][22]

Crown Prince Jonathan was a signatory to the Treaty of Carshalton 2010, which organised the Austenasian Monarchical Referendum of 16 May 2010. He let his vote, for Outcome 1 (the Emperor), be made public. After the Emperor won the Referendum, William was bound by the Treaty of Carshalton to surrender, and Princess Caroline was bound by the same treaty to withdraw her claim to the Throne and renounce all military support for her claim. The Crown Prince wrote up the Treaty of Ruskin Road to end the war, which he signed on 23 May 2010 (it came into force the day after).[23]

On 1 July 2010, the Emperor gave the Crown Prince the new ceremonial title of Caesar,[24] a matter of minutes after he also granted it to Calum of Orly. After Orly was divided into Copan and the Grove, the King of Copan appointed Crown Prince Jonathan the Viceroy, to rule Copan in the King's absence. On 12 November 2010, Emperor Esmond III deposed Calum from the throne of the Grove, and set up a Lord Regency instead, appointing the Crown Prince as the Grove's new leader. In the continued absence of the King of Copan, Crown Prince Jonathan therefore became absolute monarch of all of the former territory of Orly.[25]

On 8 December 2010, Esmond III told the Crown Prince that he intended to imminently transform Austenasia into a “communist dictatorship”. Due to the popularity of Esmond III amongst the Austenasian Army, there was a real risk of a revolution, and so Crown Prince Jonathan secretly enacted a contingency plan in collaboration with King Declan I to remove Esmond III from power. He abdicated the throne of the Grove, and since he did not choose a successor, King Declan of Copan became Regent of the Grove, and instantly reunified Orly,[26] declaring himself Tsar of the reformed nation and removing Orly from the suzerainty of the Emperor. Crown Prince Jonathan was appointed Viceroy of Orly, and continues to administer the nation in the name of the Tsar.[27] This led to Austenasia going to war with Orly, planned by the Crown Prince, who did not take an active role in the fighting. He surrendered Wrythe to the Midget Army on 19 December, and then put through an Act of Parliament that appointed the Tsar of Orly (who was by this point also Midget Master) the joint Emperor of Austenasia. For the year following this, the official story was that Wrythe had been invaded and forced to appoint Declan I joint Monarch, but on 19 December 2011 the Crown Prince confessed to the deception regarding his role in depriving Esmond III of the ability to abuse his power.[28]

Reign of Emperor Declan IEdit

Despite having surrendered Wrythe to the Midget Army (with most believing that he had been forced to do so), Crown Prince Jonathan was re-elected as Representative of Wrythe under two weeks later, although he did stand down from his position as Minister of Defence. On 3 January 2011, Declan I as Midget Master appointed the Crown Prince the new Lord of Muschamp Alley (a title from the Midget Empire), and passed through an Act of Parliament that unified both that title and the title Defender of Nibiru with the position of Heir to the Throne.

Two days later, on 5 January, Crown Prince Jonathan attempted to stop another attempted communist revolution by Esmond III by simultaneously attempting to trick him into abdication. Both attempts failed, resulting in a frosty atmosphere between the two leaders at the school-based unofficial “imperial court” for the next few months - at one point, Esmond III even tried to arrest the Crown Prince for high treason, but he was pardoned via text by Declan I for any offences committed. On 31 March 2011, the Crown Prince voted for a Vote of No Confidence against Esmond III, which finally deprived him of all powers of the Throne and left Declan I as the only Monarch with any actual powers (Esmond III was removed from the actual office of Monarch with the enactment of the 2011 Constitution in September).[29][30][31]

In May, the Crown Prince met with the local British Member of Parliament, Tom Brake, who contacted the British Foreign Office on Austenasia's behalf to enquire about recognition of the Empire.[32] On 5 June, Crown Prince Jonathan appointed Lord Marshal William to the position of Acting Prime Minister until 22 June, so that he could concentrate on revising for the large number of GSCE examinations that he was sitting at the time.[33] After the exams were over, the Crown Prince took back control of the government and soon helped to organise the Austenasian Constitutional Referendum, won by the "Wrythian Constitution", which was enacted on 20 September 2011.[34]

The Crown Prince stood for re-election to the offices of Prime Minister and Representative of Wrythe in the 23 December 2011 General and Local Elections. Although re-elected Prime Minister by 75% of the vote, he lost his seat as Representative of Wrythe to HIH Princess Caroline.

Personal lifeEdit

Imperial Family of Austenasia

HIH Dame Bette Austen

Crown Prince Jonathan is a strong environmentalist. He has interests in politics, cosmology, the natural world, ancient and European history, transhumanism, and cryptozoology.[35]

On 4 September 2005, he founded the Merger Club,[36] an organisation for children that raised more than £600 for charity[37] before falling into inactivity in early 2009, its last meeting being held on 18 January.[38] Its members included Princess Caroline of Austenasia, Lord Timothy, Sir Joseph Francis and Lord Marshal William.

Joining Stanley Park High School in September 2006, the Crown Prince left in 2011 after gaining 11 GCSEs, two at A* grade and nine at A grade.[39] Crown Prince Jonathan currently attends sixth form in nearby Cheam, where he is studying Government and Politics, History, Sociology, and Law at AS-level.

On 4 May 2010, he was appointed HM The Prince Consort of Moylurg by King Declan I,[40][41] who he later appointed his Prince Companion[42] - on 17 May, the Crown Prince was granted citizenship of Moylurg by the King. On 18 October his relationship with King Declan came to an end, but the two reaffirmed their strong personal and national friendship, and the Crown Prince was appointed co-King of Moylurg the following day.[43] He was later removed from the throne the following month after Moylurg reformed into Wilcsland, but was appointed Duke of Atlantos instead. The Crown Prince has to date appointed three people his Supreme Companion, the highest title bestowable by the Heir to the Throne and intended for his consort or a close friend - Esmond III between 2009 and 2011, Prince Companion Shane between 2011 and 2012, and Richard Garrshire between April and June 2012.

Although his immediate family (and his relatives on his mother's side) are Methodist, in May 2011 the Crown Prince converted to the Orthodox Church, being chrismated (confirmed) on 24 July later that year.

Crown Prince Jonathan has starred in every episode of the Cool Barbie sci-fi series, which is directed, written, and filmed by himself. He has notably voiced Bubbles in Cool Barbie I-III, Colin in Cool Barbie II-IV and VI, and Sergeant Grey in Cool Barbie III-VI. He also played Xeaphon, the human leader/protector of the toys' kingdoms, in Cool Barbie IV and VII.

Political viewsEdit

Crown Prince Jonathan is the founder of Theodorism, an ideology which promotes a blend of communism and monarchy, officially unveiled on 14 January 2012. Prior to this, he loosely defined himself as a pragmatic social liberal. His political views - being monarchist while strongly influenced by Marxism - have been criticised by many for being hypocritical, but he has stated that he believes a Theodorist system could work within Austenasia.[44]
